Bolt.new is a browser-based AI tool that lets you build, preview, and deploy full web apps without installing anything. Describe what you want, see it live in seconds, and deploy with one click.
What makes Bolt.new different
Bolt.new runs entirely in your browser with zero setup. You get a live preview that updates as you prompt, and one-click deploys. It's the fastest way to go from idea to live website.
Open bolt.new in your browser. You can start building right away with the free tier, or sign up for more features. No downloads or installs needed.
Type a description of your project in the prompt box. Be specific about the features, pages, and design you want. Bolt will generate a full working project with a live preview.
Your app appears in a live preview panel. Test it out, make changes with follow-up prompts, and when you're happy, deploy it to the web with one click.
1. Build your first project
"Build a recipe collection website with a grid of recipe cards. Each card shows an image, name, cooking time, and difficulty. Clicking a card shows the full recipe with ingredients and steps."
2. Add search and filters
"Add a search bar that filters recipes by name and a sidebar with category filters."
3. Add user features
"Add user accounts so people can save their favorite recipes and submit their own."
Include the layout, sections, and functionality you want. Bolt works best when it understands the complete picture from the start.
Click through your app in the preview panel after every change. Test buttons, links, and forms. It's easier to fix things right away.
Bolt supports React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, and more. If you have a preference, say so in your prompt.
Once your project is working, export it to GitHub so you have a backup and can continue editing in other tools.
Instead of 'add dark mode, fix the footer, and add a new page', make three separate prompts for better results.
Since everything runs in the browser, very large projects may feel sluggish. Keep your MVP focused.
If something looks wrong, check the terminal panel at the bottom. Error messages there help you debug.
Bolt doesn't auto-save like Google Docs. Deploy or export to GitHub regularly so you don't lose progress.
